It requires 3 AA batteries: 2 for the clock and one for the pendulum. Batteries are not included.

The watch has 3 sound modes: normal tone, low tone or muted.
It is important to note that the cuckoo automatically sings for 16 hours and is silenced for 8 hours. If you want your watch to be silent at night, you must insert the batteries for the first time, taking into account that at 4 p.m. it will be silenced and that, 8 hours later, it will sing again. For example, if you dial 7:45 a.m. when you put the batteries in, it will ring for the next 4 hours 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., etc., last ringing at 11:00 p.m. and being muted until 8:00 a.m. again.
